989CLA Irons have progressive blade heights from semi-shallow in the #4, 5 to taller in the wedges to keep the center of gravity lower in the low loft heads while raising the center of gravity in the high loft irons to enable higher flight with the lower lofts and no ballooning flight with the high loft irons.

They have a superb sole design with a beveled leading and trailing edge design which is ideal for all types of grass and turf condition.

989 Irons also have a deep undercut back cavity design to increase moment of inertia and off-center hit performance with low 2mm offset on each iron in the set. Loft angles are similar to modern strong lofted irons.

An excellent set to start playing golf or for golfers who have a slower swing speed.

Loft Angle is the desired height you would like for all iron shots. Higher iron shots normally go straighter and longer than low iron shots. A lot depends on your swing technique and ability to get the ball airborne from the ground. Irons can be bent 2° or 1/2 club higher or lower. Look at the picture below to determine what flight you want or need.

Golf Club Lie Angle

Lie angle of your clubs is essential. The lie angle is much more important on irons than on woods.

Below is a chart that gives lie angle based on height and wrist-to-floor (W-F) measurement. You can use this as a "starting point" when determining the ideal lie angle for you.
